PROGRAM: 20,000SF, 300 SEAT RESTAURANT
Status: COMPLETED, 2019

oUR Hotpot restaurant design includes the interiors and FACADE replacement for a 20,000 SF building in Zhengzhou China.  The program brief included dining for 300 guests, five private dining rooms, a reception and waiting area, and two open prep kitchens.  As the Flagship restaurant for a growing and innovative franchise it was important for the client that the project also create a recognizable landmark along the main axis road and be welcoming to the community. A key feature of the design is a flowing lattice ceiling that varies in depth based on the program needs and unifies the space. At the exterior the ceiling extends vertically to form a perforated metal fin façade for sun shadeing. Through the unity of interior and exterior the visual affect is one of a constantly changing dynamics visible from the street, welcoming the public into the restaurant.
